Excellent video. Each child of course is different. However, luckily my son, who is now an engineer and productive businessman never had a single sissy fit as a baby/child.
He was always sweet. Much sweeter than his Mom.
My only concern with the video is that sissy fits are portrayed as normal, even by the “expert.”
That wasn’t so for Ben, and I am hoping there are millions of children out there who don’t need this video, and mothers who don’t buy into the sissy fit as a given developmental phenomenon.
Of course, I never gave Ben up to day care or public schools. We had a very strong bond. So many of the children I saw didn’t have that with their Moms. As teenagers it was considered normal (again) for the teen to be rebellious and rude.
I would like to put in: Before 1950, being rude as a teenager was not considered appropriate or normal.
Before 1950, the rude teenager was not the norm. He or she was the “problem child,” the exception.
If the nurturing framework is there between parents and child, and we don’t allow others, especially the State to ruin our relationship with our children, behavior that our society says is normal magically disappears.
Parents in the home are the key. That is, good guides in the home.
We allowed Dads to be thrown out of the home in the 1800′s and Moms in the 1900′s.
Hopefully with the advent of the computer, we can get parents back in the home.
And, for heavens sake, don’t abandon kids to the public schools. There isn’t an ounce of love there for them except from other teenage minds who don’t have a clue about life as yet.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts beth.
Loved this video! I remember the days when i was a child, a fit was either ignored or interrupted with the usual warning from mom: “Do you want to go out in the car while I finish the shopping !!!” For some reason, that remark always worked.
Fortunately, my kids don’t throw fits. They have tried, but realize their efforts are worthless.
