Valentines Day Crafts – Bead Necklace

This is a fun Valentine’s Day craft that can make a great gift for your child to give to a friend or loved one.  This uses the Clay I highlighted in the post on Valentine’s Day Craft Ceramics.  You will need about 48 hours for them to dry thoroughly so they can be painted and put on a string or ribbon.

Supplies:

  • 2 Cups Flour
  • 1/2 cup Salt
  • 2/3 cup water
  • Mixing Bowl
  • Spoon
  • Paint
  • Paint Brush
  • String or Ribbon
  • Straw
  • Wax paper

Steps:

  1. Mix, Flour Salt and water in a bowl
  2. Mix it well until it is like a cookie dough.  If it is too crumbly, add a little more water.  If it is too sticky add a little more flour.
  3. Roll dough into little balls about 3/4 inch in diameter
  4. Press the straw through the middle carefully to make a hole.
  5. Make 3-6 beads and then place on wax paper to dry
  6. Once beads are dry (about 2 days) Paint the beads and let the paint dry
  7. Then string on ribbon or string.

Enjoy!!
