Thanksgiving is a great time to talk to kids about being thankful for things they have in life.  We have a lot to be thankful for and it is a great lesson for kids to realize how lucky they are.  It is also a great time to teach them about giving to others.  Bringing canned goods to the local food bank, or contributing to food drives at school are great ways for kids to see how important it is to help the less fortunate.

This preschool Thanksgiving Craft is very simple and a fun way to talk to them about what they are thankful for.

Supplies:

  • Construction paper
  • Crayons

Steps:

  1. Depending on the age of your child, you can write “I am thankful for :” on their paper, or help them write it themselves.
  2. Talk to them about what being thankful means and what they might be thankful for.  After they tell you, you can write that below the “I am thankful for:”.  If they are able to write it, then help them do it.
  3. Have them draw a picture of what they are thankful for.

This is a great Thanksgiving decoration to display!
