Hi, Welcome back to Toddler Craft. Please subscribe to my Toddler Craft newsletter. Sign up to the left. It's full of more fun activities, parenting information and crafts! Thanks for visiting!
This is a fun recycled craft to do with the kids! It’s another great opportunity to talk about the three R’s: Reduce, Reuse, Recycle! You will also get a functional bird feeder out of the project that you can then get to enjoy all spring, summer and fall!

I love recycled crafts all year round, but I thought I would highlight a few of them in honor of Earth Day! There will be more to come on Toddler Crafts but, here a few that I have posted in the past. Some are recycled and some are Earth Day Crafts with a more earth friendly theme. Enjoy!
I feel it’s so important to start teaching my kids about recycling and being good to the earth at a young age. Recycled Crafts is a great way to do it!

This is a really easy preschool craft! A may day basket is a fun activity, because when you are done making it then you can go look for flowers to pick and put in your basket. Kids love to display their handy work for decorations! I know my kids proudly put up their baskets in their room, they hung them from their door knobs. If you preferred to make flowers you could do that too. You can easily make this into a recycled craft by using an already drawn on piece of construction paper for the basket.
Supplies:
- Construction paper
- Tape, Glue or stapler
- Scissors
- Crayons or foam pieces (if you would like to decorate the outside of the basket)
Steps:
- Cut one of the pieces of construction paper into a square.
- Cut a one inch thick piece of paper from another Color
- If you want to decorate your basket, color or glue on your items on the square paper
- Loop square piece of paper around to make a cone
- Staple or tape together to keep it a cone
- Staple one inch piece of paper to top of cone to form handle
- Pick or make flowers to place in your basket.
Happy Spring!! Enjoy!!

This is a fun Activity for Toddlers. It is fun for them to make, and play with! They can even decorate it if they would like to. What’s even better is it is made from recycled material.
Supplies:
- Empty Butter or cream cheese tub
- Dry Macaroni
- Tape
- Paper (optional)
Steps:
- Clean out tub well
- Have your child take dry macaroni and put it in the tub
- Tape it shut (you want it tight, so it doesn’t break open)
- It’s ready to go!! You can now play your music or…
- You can fold paper over it and tape it well, then let your child decorate it with crayons or markers.
Have fun!!

Recycled Crafts
One of my favorite things to do with the kids is make something from things we have around the house. This craft can be anything your child wants it to be. Save some old cardboard boxes, cous cous boxes, yogurt containers, etc. Take out some, tape, glue, paint and any other materials you are ok with your child using and let them create! My son made a wishing Machine! It had all sorts of details and he taped various boxes together and had a lot of fun using his wishing machine!

There are a few benefits to a craft like this. The first is it’s an opportunity to teach your child about the environment and the importance of recycling and reusing items. The second benefit is that it allows your child to really use their creativity and imagination to create whatever they desire. There are no guidelines so they are free to create. The third benefit is, you have what you need already on hand!!
I’d love to hear about your recycled creations!!
