Alien Maker

I thought I would write a few posts about some of the fun crafty gifts my kids got!  As you have probably guessed we love to do crafty things and this year they got a few great kindergarten craft kits for the holidays!  These are NOT paid reviews, they are products I thought were really fun and wanted to share.

The Kindergarten Craft kit I want to share today is the Martian Matter -Alien Maker.  It’s a really fun set that my kids have spent hours and hours with.  It comes with everything it needs and no batteries are required (yeah!).  It is really simple, after taking my kids through it  a few times both my 4 and 7 year old could play with it independently.

To create the Aliens, you push dough in the alien maker (it’s like play dough) and pick your alien’s head and body.  Then you push it down to cause an imprint.  After you create your imprint, you pick colors of “lunar Lava” to pour into your Alien imprint.  Then you put a thin layer of dough on top of your alien and in 5 minutes it is dry and ready to play with.  It is great that the kids can create all different types of aliens in varying colors. The set comes with multiple alien heads and bodies to switch around.   The kids love it!

Preschool Craft Fun – Star Decoration Craft

Star Decoration Craft I love Felt!!  You can do so much with it!  This is a fun preschool craft decoration that your child can make and place proudly on their door.  You can make it any shape you like, perhaps a tree, snowflake etc for winter.  Just take the idea and change the shape.

Supplies:

  • Felt in two colors
  • Scissors
  • Glue
  • Ribbon
  • 3 bells ( you can do more or less, whatever you like)
  • Foam stickers or cutouts

Steps:

  1. Draw on the felt the outline of the star
  2. Cut out the star
  3. Make a slightly smaller outline of a star and cut that out
  4. Glue smaller star on larger one
  5. Let it dry
  6. Once dry, cut to slices in the middle of the star, so that it will slip over a door handle
  7. Hole punch 3 wholes in bottom of star and tie ribbon through it
  8. Tie bottom of ribbon to bells
  9. Decorate star with cutouts and glitter etc.

Have fun!

Bean Photo Frame Craft

How to Make a Bean Picture Frame

This is a really neat Kindergarten craft video that would be great as a Holiday Present!  What’s better then a present made by your child with a picture of them in it for a grandparent or parent?!!  Not much!  I think I might have to try this one with my kids.
