Father's Day Crafts

This book about “my family” or “my dad” is a fun idea for a Father’s Day Craft that your child can create as a gift for their dad.  It’s  a special gift that most dad’s would love.  Talk to your child about what they would like to make their story about.  They might choose to make a story about their family or their dad.  Have them think about some special things that you all do as a family or they do with their dad that they want to share.  They can take their time to draw the pictures first.  Once they have drawn the pictures they can start to work on the words.  Depending on their age, they can try to spell the words themselves or they can tell you the words and you can write it.  Either way, they will finish with a special keepsake for their dad, depicting what they love about their dad and their time together.

Supplies:

  • Paper
  • Stapler
  • Crayons, Markers
  • Pencil

Steps:

  1. Create pictures of the story your child wants to tell
  2. Write the words for the pictures
  3. Staple story together
  4. Give to dad  and tell him how much you love him!!

Happy Father’s Day!

Christmas Tree Craft

Christmas Craft

It’s that time of year again!  I can’t believe it!  So here is the start of the holiday craft series.  Today is a simple Christmas Tree Craft that can easily be made into an ornament.  To make it an ornament, I would recommend using card stock instead of construction paper.  Then just hole punch the top and put a pretty ribbon through it.

Supplies:

  • Construction paper
  • Scissors
  • Glue
  • Beads
  • Glitter

Steps:

  1. Draw a tree shape
  2. Cut out the tree (or have your child cut it out, depending on their age)
  3. Make a design with the glue
  4. Shake glitter over it and empty on a paper plate or bowl
  5. Glue some beads or other pretty objects

Enjoy!
