Here is another of my Fun Activities for Toddlers ! This shaving creme craft will bring lots of joy, giggles and fun!! My kids love doing this!! It’s messy-but a fun and easy activity ! It can be done with kids old enough that they won’t eat it! You know your child and if they will put it in their mouth. My kids by 2 were fine with this type of activity. This activity is really good for kids 2-7 (some kids older would like it too!).
Kids love to get their hands messy and feel fun textures!! They also learn by doing things in different types of mediums!! This is a fun activity that let’s kids practice their letters while enjoying getting to play in shaving creme!!

Supplies:
- Some type of board, cardboard, chalkboard, white board (plastic plate works too!)
- Shaving Creme
- Smock, Apron
- Wipes or paper towels
Steps:
- Put Smock or Apron on your child
- Put a little bit of shaving creme on your board
- Let your child spread it all out- They will love this!!
- Show them how they can draw a letter in it with their pointer finger
- Then erase it by wiping your hand over it
- Let them try
- They can do letters or draw shapes what ever you want
- Be there to show them how to draw a letter or shape and they can try it next. You can also help move their hand as they get the feel for it.

Depending on the age of your child you can help them write words, letters, shapes. They can make pictures or whatever they want. At the end you can even have them help you clean up the boards in the sink. Have fun!! Keep on the look out for more fun activities for toddlers!!

This is a really simple craft-another in my series on projects you can make from styrofoam balls. The possibilities of projects is endless!! My son inspired this one. I asked him what he would like to make and he said a Wolf, so off we went. You might want to read a book like Little Miss Riding Hood when creating this craft.
Supplies:
- 3 Styrofoam balls (one that is a smaller size for the head)
- Tooth picks
- Pipe Cleaners
- Marker
Steps:
- Cut Toothpicks in half
- Place toothpick (half of it, use both balls that are the same size) in one styrofoam ball then place other ball on other side of toothpick until the balls meet
- Take other half of toothpick and place in one side of 2 balls and put smaller ball on other end of toothpick and attach
- Cut pipe Cleaner into shorter lengths and twist to make ears
- Put Ears on top of smaller ball
- Cut smaller lengths of pipe cleaner times 4, place in bottom of two bigger balls for legs
- Make eyes and nose with marker (or you can use googly eyes)
Hope you enjoy!
I have decided I had ENOUGH of WINTER!! (Actually I had enough two months ago) It is time for Spring, so to usher it in I thought I would show case a spring project!! This is really fun because first the kids get to create the planter and then they get to plant the plant and watch it grow!! You can use seeds or a plant that you have a cutting of. Which ever you prefer.
Supplies
- Clay Pot
- Paint
- Potting Soil
- Plant cutting or seeds to plant
Steps
- Paint the Clay Pot (Get Creative- use sponges, shapes, brushes etc)(Glue things on it, like beads, Glitter, Gems etc. Whatever you and your child like)
- Put the Dirt in the pot
- Plant your seeds or cutting
- Water and Watch it grow!!
I love these kinds of projects because my kids love to see something they planted grow!! Can’t wait to start talking about Gardening projects!! Warm Weather here we come!!

One day my mother in law came over to watch my kids for a few hours and she decided to do a craft with them. She always does cool things with them, but I had to share this one because I really thought it was so great!!
Supplies
- 3 Popsicle Sticks
- Glitter
- White Spray paint
- Cheap puzzle-20-50 piece small one
- Pipe Cleaner
- Glue
Steps
- Glue popsicle sticks together one on top of the other – perpindicular so you end up with 6 “arms” (glue gun works well with this)
- Wrap a pipecleaner around one of them so that you can hang it, like an ornament
- Spray puzzle pieces white with spray paint
- Sprinkle glitter on wet puzzle pieces-let dry
- Glue puzzle pieces on popsicle sticks (glue gun is helpful with this)
You now have a beautiful Snow Flake!! Enjoy!!
If you try this craft, let me know how you like it!!

Reinforcing letters and the sounds they make is very important for children. The more you do this in a variety of fun ways the better. This craft activity is really fun and your child won’t even know they are learning! I did this with my kids and they had so much fun they came up with about 6 collages each!! They just wanted to keep going!! They love to cut and glue!! We did the letter D and picked all things in magazines that started with letter D. Then we cut them out and glued them on construction paper to make a D collage.
Supplies
- Construction paper
- Glue
- Old Magazines
- Scissors
- Markers (optional) You can put the letter at the top of the page with a marker
Steps
- Go through old magazines, pick a letter to focus on with your child. Talk about the sound(s) it makes. In this example I used D. Have your child name the objects he or she sees and ask if that starts with a D. Child “thats a cat” Caregiver “yes it is! does thats start with a duh sound-saying the sound the letter makes instead of the letter itself. Continue like this until you find enough D objects (how ever many you want).
- Then Cut out each object. If your child is old enough they can cut it out
- Take all the objects and let your child use a glue stick to glue them on the construction paper.
- You can take a marker and right the letter on the paper to reinforce what the letter looks like
- You can also look for the letter in words and cut those out and paste them on the page
