This is a fun craft for preschoolers. They love to make music and what’s better then making something you can make music with!
Supplies:
- Construction Paper
- Rice, macaroni, beads, beans
- Stapler
- Tape
- Scissors
- Markers
- Paper towel roll or/ toilet paper roll
Steps:
- Cut Towel roll to about 2 inches long
- Pour beads, rice etc into towel roll then tape ends
- Put on piece of construction paper and fold around it, stapling and taping it to seal it closed
- Cut other pieces of paper to make a design and glue or tape it on the music shaker
- Enjoy and play some music!

This is a pretty decoration if you make this preschool craft and hang it in a window. With some shiny, glittery beads it adds a nice touch to a window. Depending on how you arrange the pipe cleaners, it can also look like a dragon fly-as it does in the picture above. Space them all evenly and you have a snowflake. Make an X with 2 and put one pipcleaner end a little longer and it looks like a dragonfly craft!
Supplies:
- Beads
- Pipecleaners
- Scissors
Steps:
- Cut 3 equal lengths of pipecleaners
- Add Beads to each pipcleaner, turning ends on each after all beads are on.
- Wrap a small piece of pipecleaner around the area you want connected
- Get fishing line and tie it to your snowflake and hang it from your window
Have fun!

My kids love to play Red light, Green light 123! Today we made a great preschool craft that added some more fun to the game and created a whole bunch more!! We made a stop sign craft! The other side is the Green/Go side!

It was really fun for them. They were playing all sorts of stop and go games around the house. It’s very simple to make and offers hours of fun!
Supplies:
- Construction Paper – Red and Green
- Glue
- Stapler
- Paper Towel roll
- Black Marker
- Paper Plate
Steps:
- Draw an Octogan on red paper and Green Paper
- Cut out Octogan
- Glue Red Octogan on the paper plate
- Write the word stop in the middle of the Octogan
- Put Paper Towel Roll on back of plate-about half of it should be behind plate so it stays firmly up.
- Staple Stop Sign to paper towel roll, staple bottom of sign and middle to Paper Towel Roll
- Glue Green Go sign to other side of plate
- Write Go on the sign
- Staple Go sign to the Paper Towel roll
Enjoy!!

Every Summer there is a hot air balloon festival by us. It is a lot of fun for the kids and there are hot air ballons that fly in. They take off in the morning and at dusk if the weather is right and are a thrill to see. This past weekend was the festival! It inspired us to creat a hot air balloon craft!
Before creating this craft I would suggest reading Curious George and the Hot Air Balloon. Kids love curious george books and they are so imaginative. When you read the book, talk to your child about what they think they might see from a hot air balloon, how would it look? Smaller? Would they be able to see more?
Supplies:
- Construction Paper (four colors)
- Scissors
- Glue stick
- Glitter
- Marker
- White Crayon

Steps:
- Cut 2 semi-circles from 2 colors
- Cut a strip about half inch thick, the length of the circle
- Cut the basket out for the bottom.
- Glue the semi circles almost together on your background paper (two make a circle)
- Glue the strip over the middle of the circles
- Glue the basket below the balloon, circles.
- Draw the lines for the strings to the basket from the baloon
- Add some glitter for fun
- Draw some clouds, a person and whatever else you like! Get creative an decorate the balloon.

In honor of We Heart Art sponsored by Three Bay B Chicks, Domestically Challenged and I’m Living proof God has a Sense of humor I am sharing some fun simple ideas this week for inspiration!

Yesterday we got messy and cretive at my house!! I am usually a bit anal about using brushes and rollers for painting. But, yesterday we decided to put paint in our tupperware tops, spread it out and cover our hands in it!! The kids loved it!! They loved the way it felt on their hands and making their own creations with their hands!! Check out their creations below!

My 3 yearold got creative with some red and purple.
She moved her hands in many directions to make her picture

The little girl I watch is 5 and she made this with purple.
Notice how she lined all the hands up!

Here is another creation by my 3 year old.
She used a lot of black for this one.

My 6 year old boy got into finger painting and doing his hand prints in this one.

This one is by my 6 year old also.
He blended blue and brown and made clear hand prints.
As you can see with a little paint, paper and imagination kids can really get into creating!! They loved this and each made about 10 creations!!
Supplies:
- Washable paint ( a MUST for this one!)
- Paper
- Something to spread out paint-we used a paint brush
- Tupperware lids
- SOAP AND WATER!! FOR CLEAN UP-LOL
Steps:
- Pull up sleeves or wear short sleeves
