St Patricks Day Crafts

Before you start the project you might want to read a book about St. Patricks day like St. Patricks Day by Carmen Bredeson or Hooray for St Patricks Day! by Joan Holub, which could tell them a little about the holiday and why it is celebrated.
Supplies
- Green Construction Paper
- Yellow Construction Paper
- Glue Stick
- Stickers for decorating
- Scissors
- Black Marker
Steps
- Cut out hat shape out of green construction paper (Depending on your child’s age you can make an outline and then have them cut it out)
- Make Lines as seen on Picture above on hat with Black marker
- Cut out yellow rectangle, with a rectangle hole in the middle
- Glue the rectangle on the top of the hat
- Decorate it with stickers
You now have your St Patricks Day Hat!

Since spring won’t come as quickly as I would like, I decided I would do a winter theme project today. This is a simple and easy Toddler Craft.
Before working on this project you might want to read Frosty the Snowman to your child by Jack Collins. Then you can talk about Frosty and the story. I always ask what they liked best about the story and have them retell it to me. Then you can make a “Frosty” together.
Supplies you will need:
- White Construction Paper
- Brown Construction Paper
- Orange construction Paper
- Scissors
- Brown Pipe Cleaner
- Glue
- Glitter Glue (optional)
- Googly Eyes (optional)
- Scotch Tape
Steps to Make the Snow Man:
- Cut White construction Paper into three size circles (I use circle tuperware lids to make an even circle)
- Cut from Brown Construction Paper a top hat shape
- Cut out a Carrot shaped nose for the nose
- Glue three circles together to make a snow man shape
- Tape Brown Pipe Cleaner to bag with two pieces of tape
- Glue hat on top of Snowmans head
- Make eyes with glitter glue or glue on googly eyes
- Then you decorate the snowman however you like, drawing, paining on him, or gluing pieces of foam shapes et
One of my favorite Toddler Crafts is Play Dough!! Playing with Play Dough is really fun!! But when you make it yourself and get to make your own colors it’s even better!! It’s like to projects in one!! First you get to make the recipe and then you get to play with it!!
This recipe is really simple to make and has ingredients you would probably normally have handy in your house.
Ingredients:
- 1 Cup Flour
- 1/2 Cup Salt
- 1 Cup Water
- 2 Teaspoons Cream of Tartar
- 1 Tablespoon Mazola Oil
Add Food Coloring 1 Drop of what ever color you would like, or mix the colors to create a special color!
Warm all ingredients in a pot on the stove on low, Stir until it gels and then you have your playdough!!
This can be used for months if kept in a sealed tupperware.

Once you have everything assembled Follow these steps:
- Cut Paper Towel Roll so that it is about an inch and a half (one section like this for each ring)
- Paint each ring with Green paint and let dry
- Use Green construction paper and draw a Clover about 1 1/2 inches wide
- Put some glue on it and sprinkle gold glitter on, and let dry
- When Paint and Glue are dry, Glue clover on top of painted paper towel roll
