Traditionally, dads get a tray of their favorite breakfast complete with coffee as a special Father’s Day meal.  But why not surprise Daddy with some special trinket that his precious darling makes?  Aside from the usual scribbles and toothpick creations, there are plenty of neat things to make for Father’s Day.

If you live near the beach, see if you can find a large shell, one that can be used to hold change or pocket contents.  Clean and polish it up, maybe spray it with shellac before gluing it to a piece of wood so that it doesn’t rock around.  This way dad can put his change all in one place and easily grab it the next time he fills his pockets again.

Only a dad can appreciate the effort put into such things, but why not help your little one make a frame of rocks and shells or beads and macaroni to put around his favorite photo of your child?  Make or buy a small frame and then decorate it with items your child finds on a treasure hunt around the house and yard.  He can set it on the dresser at home or on the desk at work.

All dads like snacks and treats, so why not put together a basket or plate of goodies or a jar of his favorite candy, or munchies?  Make it a point to decorate the basket, plate or jar – letting your little toddler go all out to design a card to attach.  Father’s Day is a fun day to remember that special man in your life.  Oh, and don’t forget to give him an extra hug to go with his new gifts!
