This one of the many fun crafts for toddlers that you can create, and what’s great is that this uses recycled material. Kids will love making their own piggybank and then saving money in it! It’s also a great opportunity for you to teach your kids about the value of money and saving money.
Supplies:
- Plastic soda or seltzer bottle
- Tape
- Construction paper
- Crayons/Markers
Steps:
- Clean out bottle and take off wrapper
- Decorate construction paper, and cut to fit bottle
- Cut hole in the bottle for coins to go in (an adult should do this step)
- Wrap Construction paper around and tape it to the bottle.
Enjoy!!

This is a good tip. It’s always a good idea to teach saving to your toddlers. Remember, toddlers are at an age when they are like sponges. Whatever you’ll teach them at their age will more than likely be carried over to when they’re older. This is also a good way to teach “cause and effect”. Show to your toddler how to put money in it and after a few weeks or months, open it so he’ll see that he was able to save a lot of money. He’ll hopefully realize the theory behind saving money.
