Wendy The Whale

This is a really fun and educational craft for your preschooler.  A great book to read before creating this craft is The Snail and The Whale by Julia Donaldson.  Then you can create the whale.  You can reinforce the Letter W as you read the story and make the craft.  Pointing out that Whale starts with W.  Then you can make Wendy the Whale and write the W and perhaps the name if you like as well.

Supplies:

• Construction paper-blue, white, brown and purple
• Glue Stick
• Googly eyes
• Scissors

Steps:

1. Draw the outline of the whale on purple construction paper (or black )-then cut out the whale
2. Draw the out line of the water spout on white paper-then cut out the spout
3. Draw the waves on the blue paper-then cut out
4. Glue Waves on the construction paper
5. Glue whale on top of wave
6. Glue Spout on top of whale
7. Glue Googly eye on the Whale
