It’s Official I am going back to work! My biggest anxiety about starting back as a Counselor in Middle School and High School was Child Care Options! As a Counselor I have to be in by about 7 AM. I really did not want to have to get the kids out of the house by 6 AM on the days I work, so I knew I needed to find a good Babysitter who was reliable.
I heard through a friend that she found 2 great sitters through the Child Care Connection at Sitter City (If you Need a babysitter, The best local sitters are at Sittercity.com. Save 15% on registration with promo code SAVE15 ). So I decided to give it a try. I put an advertisement on Sitter City using their Free Trial option. I figured if I got some good responses then I would pay to join. I have to say I was completely amazed at the response I got! I have looked for sitters before using newspaper ads and this was SO much better! I got roughly 25 excellent applicants in a matter of 3 days!
One of the things I really like about the way SitterCity Works is that you can actually look at potential sitters profiles before you contact them. It also gives you one place to go to contact them and check out new applicants. I definitely could get a feel on who I wanted to contact first by reading their profile and message to me.
I am so relieved that I have now found a few great sitters! One who will work regularly with the kids and a couple for the occasional night out! I have never had so many great options before!! I thought the Child Care Connection service at Sitter City was so great that I wanted to share it with all of you. It was definitely worth the money it cost to sign up, in my opinion!!

Congrats!! And I have to agree that Sitter City is an amazing resource. I tried for months to find a sitter for our daughter that matched our wacky lives, and the free ads I’d placed elsewhere never yielded the kind of candidates we got through the fee based system at sitter city… Sometimes you just get what you pay for!
That’s a big site! My youngest child is 21 years old now so I refuse to pay for his sitter but for the heck of it I searched my zip code of 48111. It brought back 5,329 babysitters in my area.
We just got our fourth Grandchild last weekend and we all take turns watching them. The oldest Grandson is eight now and none of them have had a babysitter yet that wasn’t family. As we get older and get more Grandchildren (we have four kids) I’m sure they’ll need babysitters. When they do get to that point I think I’m going to buy my kids a hidden security camera to babysit the babysitters.

Brian- It is amazing how many people are listed on that site! I still can’t believe the luck I had with finding a sitter! How nice that your grandchildren get to be with their grandparents so much!! They are very lucky, as are their parents!!
Sittercity looks like a great resource. I also don’t have a personal need anymore for this service. However, I perform family magic shows for folks that need this kind of service. It’s nice to have a resource that I can point them too.
I have just discovered the most amazing baby stroller. You can see a video about its features on the website.
Good info appreciate the time you spent on this thread
Commonly parents purchase a stroller for their baby already after his/her birth. And this task sometimes turns into a real quest for the parents due to the various range of the strollers offered at the stores. But when considering the details we should note that only few companies may be marked out among the long list of the strollers’ manufacturers.Where baby trend jogging stroller
