Hi, Welcome back to Toddler Craft. Please subscribe to my Toddler Craft newsletter. Sign up to the left. It's full of more fun activities, parenting information and crafts! Thanks for visiting!

This past week was a crazy busy one for our family! My son was in a school wide play, which was FANTASTIC!! But, it required late nights almost every night last week in preparation. In addition, I volunteered to organize the bake sale for it. Which added to the chaos. So Toddler Crafts Tackled keeping up with the school play for the week, but in the end we made it! It actually was a great experience and wonderful to watch how the Director and Producer pulled it all together. It’s really amazing how they can take 200 Elementary school children and get them to all do their part in the play and pull off a very professionally done performance in the end. I was so proud watching my son up on stage, so calm!! The Bake Sale was also a success so overall this was a good tackle!

This week for tackle it Tuesday at Toddler Crafts I tackled TAXES! YUCH! I had been putting it off but, it was time to tackle it!! I have an accountant actually do the taxes but I do ALOT of preparation before I give it to her. Putting all the receipts together, adding up all the possible deductions etc, takes quite a bit of time. My accountant gives a great worksheet for me to fill out, and it helps me think about what she needs, but it takes a while to prepare! It is more complicated now that I have my online Freebie Trading Business to account for. It took all day but, I am pleased to say, it is almost done!! Just need a couple of details and I can hand it in!! Yeah!
What did you tackle this week? How do you handle your taxes?

This week we tackled our first cub scout pine wood derby. Having never experienced a Cub Scout Derby before, I wasn’t sure what to expect or where to start. So of course, I googled it! This led me to some very detailed information on how the cars go faster and the complexities of Derby car design!! Thanks to Grandpa, he helped carve it for my son, we had a start on what I thought was going to be an impossible project! After googling it, I discovered roughly how and where to weight the car (apparently you need to weight it to make it faster!). My son and I painted it and it awaited race day! My only hope was that it would be in the heat and not last continuously so that he didn’t feel badly.
Well, I needn’t have worried, it not only didn’t come in last but, it won!! My son was so proud of his trophy and we are on to the derby regionals!! So this has been a successful tackle and a learning experience!

This week I tackled an organizational project! We have SO MANY books for the kids that I am running out of room. We just got this cool Magazine type rack that we hung to add books to. I tackled, putting it up and then sorting the books to decide what books would go well in it. It feels so good to have all the books organized again!!

This is what was in the spot where the new book holder was to go. I removed it before I installed the new book organizer.

I loved this tackle, because it really helped organize the books. The magazine holder, works great for the books!! It’s in a place I couldn’t have fit a bookshelf, so it’s like found space!!
What did you tackle this week?

This weeks tackle was to tackle my daughters cabinet. It always gets stuffed with the overflowing art work etc that we have! I have to do it out of her prying eyes, because she wants to keep ALL the art work! I would need a room on my house just for artwork if I kept all of it. She is quite the little artist!!

I always feel so much better at the end of a tackle! It’s great to not go in the cabinet and have things fall out on you!! What have you tackled this week?
