The other day we had paperplates in the house and decided to make a bunch of projects out of them!! My Daughter looked at them and said “let’s make a project out of this” so off we went!! Today I will show you the Paper Plate Tambourine we made. It was really simple and fun to make. My daughter loves playing music so she is really excited to add this to her instrument collection!!
Making a Paper Plate Tambourine
Supplies
- 2 Paper Plates
- Pasta/beans/Rice
- Stapler
- Crayons/Markers/Paint
Steps
- Color (or paint) outside of plates
- Pour Pasta/Beans/Rice in one plate
- Put other plate on top and staple every 1/2 inch so contents doesn’t fall out
- Shake your Tambourine!
Have fun with it!! Make a bunch and make a band!! Take a coffee can and make a drum!!

Love this idea! It’s simple and totally achievable for a toddler. Think we’ll give this one a go tomorrow. All the best with the 31DBBB Challenge! Blessings, Cath.

Carrie-I am glad you did too!! You must be one busy mommy!!!
Hey Onna,
I like that it is non toxic! If it breaks open then no big deal if they happen to eat the contents.
Since my youngest is 14, this is something I would help someone else’s kids make and then send them home to make noise. LOL!
I will say that kids love to make noise. I always had a drawer just for Tupperware and wooden spoons so the kids could could get in their band practice.

Sheryl-I am glad you like it!! You are right – Kids LOVE to make noise!!What’s better then sending something like that home with your friends kids!! (who probably did the same for you-LOL)
I made something like this in camp once but it was a little fancier. Somehow bottlecaps (like from old-fashioned Coke bottles) were incorporated. This version is perfect for toddlers, though – thanks!
Laura-Thanks for stopping by!!
