It is amazing what you can do with a pack of small marshmallows and toothpicks!! I think I might need to do a series of activities for toddlers on this!! Whis Marshmallow masterpiece is a Satellite!! It was created by my son in keeping with our theme of our Solar System.
To make a creation like this one you need:
- Toothpicks (the rounded kind )
- Tiny Marshmallows
Then use your imagination (and your child’s!) and go to town. It might be helpful to explain that it should have depth to it, and what depth means. This way they can work to make it 3 dimensional.

Fun! And then you can eat it when you’re done too! Marshmallows are great science tools. We recently burned one up, so my daughter could see the basic elements of what they are made from. We used mini ones to understand energy levels and electron clouds!
Following you through MBC.
